Understanding China’s solar supply chain, from materials to a finished project
A practical guide to the companies, technologies and documents behind a solar procurement decision.

Understanding China’s solar industry starts with separating the manufacturing chain from the project-delivery chain. Polysilicon, wafers, cells and modules describe different production stages. An installed project also involves inverters, mounting equipment, electrical systems, engineering and operations.
Follow the product, not only the headline
A module manufacturer, a distributor and an installation contractor can all appear in a product search. Record who manufactures the equipment and who is making the supply offer. Those roles affect the documents, warranty route and commercial questions you need to confirm.
Build a comparable procurement file
Collect the model code, current datasheet, destination requirements, offered quantity and quotation date. Keep technical specifications separate from a supplier’s commercial offer. Stock, shipping terms and a family-level product announcement answer different questions.
Read change in context
For industry updates, check whether figures describe announced capacity, operating capacity, actual output or shipments. For a project, distinguish approval, construction and grid connection. For technology, distinguish a laboratory result from a mass-produced module.
Use the company directory to identify manufacturers, the product catalogue to compare documented families and the inquiry service to submit a specific requirement. Sources and review dates accompany records throughout the platform.
