Third-generation Vertex: Trina secures 580 MW agreement in Eastern Europe

The agreement covers modules and mounting systems for four Energix projects totalling 580 MW.

Trina Solar recently announced an agreement with international renewable-energy company Energix to supply an integrated module-and-mounting solution for four utility-scale ground-mounted PV projects in Eastern Europe, with a combined capacity of 580 MW. The projects will use Trina Solar's latest third-generation Vertex 760 W-series modules alongside its in-house mounting system. The coordinated solution is intended to simplify management throughout project delivery and support Europe's clean-energy transition.

At the heart of the solution, Trina Solar's third-generation Vertex modules are designed to suit local operating conditions. Four core innovations—the i-TOPCon Ultra cell technology platform, multi-cut cells, edge passivation and ultra-high-density encapsulation—enable maximum output of 760 W, conversion efficiency of 24.5% and bifaciality of up to 90%, helping maximise rear-side generation. In Eastern Europe's cold winters and rainy or snowy conditions, the modules can make effective use of ground-reflected light to increase rear-side yield. Their low-irradiance performance also supports generation at dawn, dusk and under low-light conditions, contributing to higher overall energy yield and customer value. Annual degradation as low as 0.35%, together with a 30-year power warranty, supports stable long-term plant generation.

The integrated solution also offers pre-tested configurations and unified technical support during engineering design and installation. It simplifies procurement and delivery and reduces interface and warranty risks associated with multiple suppliers, helping Energix improve energy returns and asset value over the projects' lifetimes while supporting the development of large-scale renewable-energy sites.

Artur Violante, CEO of Energix Central and Eastern Europe, said: “We are delighted to work with Trina Solar, a recognised industry leader, on these strategically important projects. We believe that combining Energix's established experience with Trina Solar's advanced technology will help deliver the projects successfully and lay a firm foundation for a strong, mutually beneficial long-term partnership.”

Katerina Jirku Nemec, Trina Solar's Head of Eastern Europe, said: “Our cooperation with Energix demonstrates the value of a more integrated solution for large ground-mounted PV projects. As the Eastern European solar market continues to grow, developers are looking beyond the performance of individual modules and paying increasing attention to how different technologies work together across the whole project. By supplying both third-generation Vertex modules and mounting systems, we can provide Energix with a highly coordinated overall solution that supports high energy yield and reliable long-term performance while improving project execution efficiency.”

The 580 MW cooperation with Energix marks another milestone in Trina Solar's continued development in Europe, underpinned by its products and technology. Trina Solar will continue working with regional partners to build high-performance, reliable projects and contribute to Europe's energy transition and sustainable development.
