On October 30, China Datang's 150 MW Zhangpu fishery–PV power station achieved full-capacity operation. The milestone marks a significant step in green-energy development for the New Energy Division of China Datang Corporation's Fujian branch and adds momentum to the company's low-carbon transition.

Located in Fotan and Qianting townships, the project has total investment of approximately CNY 760 million. It uses aquaculture waters to combine electricity generation above the surface with fish farming below, enabling coordinated development of aquaculture and solar power. At full operation, the plant is expected to supply approximately 260 million kWh of clean electricity each year, enough to meet the annual electricity needs of around 320,000 residents, while delivering both environmental and economic benefits.

Since construction began, the division has pursued its “Four Excellences” project-development goals, prioritising quality and strengthening cooperation between government and business to support delivery. With the combined efforts of the parties involved, construction began in September 2025; the step-up substation was energised and the first PV units connected to the grid by the end of that year. Full-capacity operation followed in October this year, demonstrating rapid construction progress.

The project is an important achievement in Zhangpu's combined “PV plus aquaculture” energy development. It improves the regional energy mix and supports a low-carbon transition while providing a stable contribution to the county economy. Once fully operational, it is expected to contribute approximately CNY 18 million in annual county tax revenue and support employment and coordinated industrial development.

The project team will continue building on the construction results and focus on operating and maintaining the fishery–PV power station to a high standard, contributing to the green, low-carbon transition of Fujian's energy sector.
