Linyang Energy and LG Energy Solution sign storage cooperation agreement

The ninth China International Import Expo opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on November 5. Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co., Ltd. and LG Energy Solution (China) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the event. Attendees included Nantong Mayor Zhang Tong and Vice Mayor Li Ling; LG Energy Solution Global Chief Strategy Officer Kim Jae-kwon, Global Senior Vice President Kim Woo-sub, China President Choi Ji-woong and China Vice President Zheng Yuandou; Linyang Group founder and President Lu Yonghua, Linyang Energy Vice President Cui Dongxu, and senior management teams from both companies.

Under the agreement, the companies will establish a long-term strategic partnership in storage power-station development, storage-system integration and smart operation and maintenance, based on complementary strengths, practical collaboration and mutual benefit. They will prioritise an independent grid-side storage project in Nantong while jointly advancing an independent storage project in Nanjing, before expanding to similar projects elsewhere in Jiangsu and internationally. The Nanjing project includes development and construction, smart O&M and associated energy services.

The partnership is an initiative to combine resources, build a global storage-industry supply chain and develop clean-energy markets, offering a model of cooperation between Chinese and international businesses. Locally, the projects are intended to support the green, low-carbon development of Nanjing and Nantong and their energy transitions. At industry level, the companies' complementary capabilities offer a cooperation model for the international development of China's storage sector. Linyang says the agreement strengthens both its project-development capabilities and international market development, supporting the expansion of its storage business.

Linyang Energy and LG Energy Solution will establish a dedicated working group and regular senior-management communications to advance demonstration projects, broaden and deepen cooperation, and develop further projects that can be replicated and promoted. They aim to contribute to the development of the global energy industry and a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.
