Industry overview & technical considerations
Manufacturing equipment belongs to a defined process step, from wafer preparation and cell processing to interconnection, lamination, inspection and module testing. A machine's claimed technology compatibility needs to match the exact cell architecture and dimensions.
Compare throughput, yield, breakage, uptime and energy use under stated recipe and handling conditions. Nameplate speed alone is not a complete acceptance criterion for a production line.
A procurement specification should identify upstream and downstream interfaces, utilities, footprint, training, spares and service responsibilities. Equipment photographs and technical diagrams serve different purposes and must not be mistaken for independent performance verification.
